When the appendix ruptures it releases pus and other infectious organism in the abdomen. This could form an appendiceal abscess which is the body’s way of combating the harmful organism released by the appendicitis. However this protection has the tendency to burst that can result to peritonitis.

Appendicitis is a very serious condition and you cannot take this lightly. The surgeons will only make a simple incision in the lower part of the abdomen. Another option is using a laparoscopy.
Patients who have undergone appendicitis surgery usually have 3 to 4 weeks when it comes to recovery period. He or she will be under pain medication. It is advisable that after the surgery, one needs to limit physical activities.
