The usual symptoms of this form include mental stress and hormonal changes. On the other hand, when a person suffers nodular episcleritis the inflammation lasts for longer period. It is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.

In case you notice the symptoms of episcleritis you should immediately consult your doctor or an optometrist. Eye examination will be conducted to properly diagnose the condition. Although the inflammation is not serious and would disappear on its own yet it is essential to obtain the right intervention. Remember that it is crucial to take medication when pregnant. In this sense, pregnant women with episcleritis should not take over-the-counter medicine without consulting first a doctor.
