Natural Remedies for Seborrheic Dermatitis Scalp
Seborrheic dermatitis is a type of eczema that occurs in the scalp, it is commonly called dandruff that cause skin to flake. Commonly the scalp is swelling and is experiencing itchiness, redness, being dry and is layering. For children, especially babies it is called cradle cap.
Seborrheic dermatitis takes place when extreme reproduction of oil glands is present in the skin and becomes dry.
Ways to Treat Seborrheic Dermatitis
You can create your own shampoo by using aromatic plants such as rosemary, thyme or basil. Simply boil the aromatic plant that you have chosen with 2 cups of water. Let it cool and apply over wet hair, no need to rinse it off. You can also look for shampoo that contains Tea Tree Oil; it also helps eliminate Seborrheic Dermatitis or Coal Tar shampoo. At times that you are shampooing your hair try to massage your scalp to loosen the scale but avoid scratching, it may result to sore.
You can also apply coconut oil or olive oil on your scalp leave it for about half an hour and wash your hair. This will not only provide treatment for seborrheic dermatitis but will also give you shiny and healthy scalp and hair.
Aloe Vera gel is also a helpful remedy; it does not only thicken the hair but can also lessen scaling and itching of the scalp.
Avoid excessive usage of hair product such as gel, hair spray, hair polish and other products that contain harsh ingredients will also help you prevent and treat your skin problem.
At home make it a habit to continuously brush or comb your hair, this will aid in removing the loose scale in your hair. It would be annoying to see those falling particles in your shoulders especially if you are out and people may see it.
